Presenting your home for sale. My top 3 tips.

It’s been a while between posts. Lately, I have been helping clients with ideas on how to present their home for sale. These ideas are for people who cannot afford a staging service, but will also help those who are choosing to stage.

Read below for my top three tips on presenting your home for sale.

Remove personal photos

Having your personal photographs on display can make potential buyers feel like they’re intruding on your private space. Remove your wedding photos from the wall and replace it with a beautiful piece of artwork to help potential buyers envision themselves in the home

Ensure your furniture layout isn’t clunky

Although you may need a certian living room layout to function better for every day living, when it comes to open homes, you want to make sure potential buyers aren’t walking into furniture blocking pathways, etc. Keep the layout as open as possible.

No one likes a musty house

We can all get used to the aroma of our own homes, but to others, certain smells can be intrusive. Before open homes, air out your house and use a refreshing scent throughout that isn’t too strong. Empty your bins and remove pet food to avoid unnecessary odours.

I hope you found these tips helpful. If you’re in regional Victoria or Melbourne’s West and need assistance with getting your home ready for sale, please get in touch. I’d love to chat!
